03 | Analyzing Bay Area Neighborhoods

To analyze the commercial and industrial fabric of a 1/4 mile section of historic San Pablo Ave. in the East Bay, I mapped building types, sketched common typologies, and directly observed my site’s social patterns. From these observations, I found the former bustling commercial corridor splitting the residential and industrial is now a shell of its former self, having been neglected in favor of heavy industry and high rise residencies.
